[hts-users:00190] Re: diffrences between merge and cat

hi,
sangjin kim.
thanks for your help.
I have read the HTK-doc and solved the question .

When I run the demo ("HTS voices for festival ", festival + HTS voices + hts_engine), I have found that it uses "hts_engine" to systhsize speech, and the file of HTS voices which it uses are some .inf files and .pdf files.
there are not any HMM files.

question 1

Is "hts_engine" better than the SPTK (in the "HTS-demo" , it uses SPTK ) when systhsizing the speech?

question 2 Are the .inf files and .pdf files more efficient than HMM files?

I'm not sure what your question is exactly but,
My understanding from your mail is..
You wanna know all tmp.XXX files during the procedure of making feature
parameters.

1.

tmp.mcep & tmp.lf0 are used for delta coefficients.
For delta and delta-delta feature, you need to read some papers.

2.

tmp.cmp & tmp.header are used for HTK format compatiblity.
For HMM training, we need to use HTK header format. And tmp.header is
that.
For HTK header format, you need to check HTK web-page.

Good luck,
