Hi,

(1) Can the output of HTS 2.0 training be used with
    hts_engine from HTS 1.1.1?

Yes, but you should use window coefficients file for HTS 1.1.1.
(window coefficient files for HTS-1.1.1 are in binary float but for HTS-2.0 they are in ascii)
(2) We wish to compare different alignment methods.
Is there an example script showing how to use the
    -e option to HERest?

No, but you can use it by appending -e option to your HERest command line.
