In the paper of SPEECH PARAMETER GENERATION ALGORITHM
FOR HMM-BASED SPEECH SYNTHESIS
in equation number 6  
it is written that "the logarithm of P(O|Q, model) can
be written as"
log P(O|Q,model)= -1/2 OT U-1 O + OT U-1 M + K 

first why we use the logarithm (is this for order and
accracy)?

what is the mathematical rules used to achieve this
assigment?(is it the infinie sieres (Maclarin) of the
logarithm?)
