For information, I applied the workaround explained in:

(Unexpected behavior occurs when you run many processes on a computer that
is running SQL Server)

And it seems that it now works correctly.

Another possibility - it seems there might be some memory allocation 
issues with any GNU compiled code on Vista - ask Google about it.
