pulse train and white noise for voiced and unvoiced segments,
respectively.

This is a very basic question about speech signal modeling.  You
should refer to a text book.  Almost all text books about speech
signal processing explain this point.  For exmple, see Figure
6.15 in the following text book:

I do recommend you to read one of speech signal processing text
books.  It is the shorter way than asking many basic questions
on the mailing list.
