[hts-users:01862] Re: voice

Hi,

In stead of Dr. Zen (Toshiba), I will answer this question
since I'm manning the CSTR online demo having the Nina voice.

Many many HTS voices including the Nina voice will be released
for **free only for research use** from CSTR HTS voice library
very soon. (For non-research use, please contact me.)

We have already finished negotiation and reach agreements
with a company which have the patents for the STRAIGHT vocoder.
Based on the agreements, it requires complex license agreements
with us for you to download/get the voices.

University of Edinburgh finalizes several required paperwork
just now. So please wait for a few weeks for further announcement
from us.

I guess you're talking about nina voice on the CSTR online demo page.
It was built by CSTR. It uses proprietary & patented technology
(STRAIGHT vocoding method) so I think that releasing it for free is a
bit difficult.
