I am developing an alternative lab file generator and will be ready for you on or before weekend soon after my coupling the bits up and trying, Its easy and well documented tool and HTS friendly. I also had the same problems you had understanding the bits. Have not had time yet to try your files out. So many things to prosess in parallel. But will try out too. Keep me updated of your progress.
