Hello,

HTS is the backend of a synthesis system which means you need a front end. Possible frontends are festival, marytts, and so on (sorry if I've forgot some). Therefore, using only the HTS-demo_CMU-ARCTIC-SLT scripts, you simply cant synthesize speech from a classic text. You need to plug HTS to a front end. You can see, as a starting point, the free voice archives provided on Dr. Yamagishi webpage : http://homepages.inf.ed.ac.uk/jyamagis/software/page54/page54.html

Kind regards,
Sébastien
